Lines of Flow is a rare and poetic tapestry by Alexander Calder, woven by the renowned Pinton Frères workshop in Aubusson. Produced in a limited edition of six, this work reflects Calder’s ability to translate his distinctive visual language into textile, where line, color, and movement come together in a composition that feels both spontaneous and carefully balanced.

The composition centers around a striking vertical motif—a vivid red flower rising along a blue stem, anchored by a single leaf below. Surrounding this central form, Calder introduces a constellation of abstract elements: a black crescent moon suspended in a soft, neutral field, and scattered marks that fall across the surface like rain. These gestures, rendered in red and black, create a sense of atmosphere and motion, as if the composition is unfolding within a quiet, nocturnal landscape.
