At this year’s Design.Miami, Boccara Gallery is delighted to present a selection of Man Ray’s Revolving Doors tapestries, woven in Paris by the remarkable artisans of Atelier 3. These works have an energy that’s hard to describe until you’re standing in front of them — the colors feel almost alive, and the shapes take on a new rhythm as they move through the woven surface.
For us, this presentation is about celebrating the spark that happens when a great artist’s vision meets the skill and sensitivity of a master weaving workshop. Man Ray’s playful, surreal forms translate beautifully into tapestry, and each piece shows the careful handwork and intuition that Atelier 3 brings to the loom. You can see the decisions, the patience, the dialogue between art and craft.
We’re thrilled to share these works with Design Miami’s audience this year. They’re bold, joyful, and full of the unexpected — much like Man Ray himself — and we hope visitors will take a moment to experience how his ideas shift and deepen when interpreted through wool and silk.
